Instructions
Activity Picker is designed to help make fast and fair decisions so you
can spend more time enjoying the moment.
To begin, please enter at least two activities and two pickers and click
"Start Picking" to start the preference collection phase.
In the preference collection phase, it is important to score based on how
much enjoyment you think you would get out of the experience. Please make
sure that you are entering preferences on behalf of the correct picker 😇
The 0-10 scoring scale is NOT based on a relative scale--it is based on
how much enjoyment you expect to get out of the activity
0 is the minimum value and should only be used in the event of something
that would be quite uncomfortable to go through. 10 is the maximum value
and should be reserved for things you think will leave lifelong happy
memories.
A preference score of 2 or 3 does NOT mean you don't like something-- it
means you only expect to enjoy it a bit.
Alternatively, a 5 or a 6 means you expect to enjoy yourself a good
amount.
When all preferences have been collected, the Simple Scores and
Adjusted Activity Picker Scores will be displayed. The Activity Picker will then use the Adjusted Score to pick the best
activity for the group based on everybody's combined
preferences!
These are your Results🙌💯🥂

Adjusted Activity Picker Score Explanation
The Adjusted Activity Picker Score is calculated by weighting the
preferences of each individual as a percentage of their total expected
enjoyment. In simple math: Adjusted Score = ((Player Score for a Given
Activity) / (Sum of all Scores from the Player))*100. For example a picker
with a preference set [5,3,7] would have adjusted scores of
[33.3, 20, 46.6].
This is done for a number of reasons. First of all,
it gives all players equal capital (100 total voting
points) to impact the final decision. Second,
it gives more weight to individuals who are less enthusiastic overall
as a consolation-- Consider a picker with preferences [3,4,5] and a second
picker with preferences [7,6,5].
Even though the simple scores for all activities would be [10,10,10], we
are able to make a clear judgment with the adjusted scores. First Picker
[25, 33.3, 41.6] + Second Picker [38.8, 33.3, 27.7 ] =
Adjusted Scores [63.8, 66.6, 69.3], so we would pick activity 3.
In the unlikely event of a tie, the is to tiebreak by selecting the
activity that was entered into the activity list first.
